Tis the season….
Welcome to Wellness Wednesday! I’ve been trying to figure out some sort of schedule for my blog and what to share when, and #WellnessWednesday seems to fit! My hope is that you’ll find this information helpful and feel encouraged to add some natural remedies to your every day!
Never in my lifetime has there been a better time to keep your immune system functioning at its best. I’m going to talk about the ways we can naturally boost our immune system and keep our natural defenses working top-notch!
✨Drink Water. I can’t say it enough. My number one, whether I’m talking in my Woman’s Health Group at church or talking with someone in general about healthy habits, make sure you’re drinking enough water and that you’re staying hydrated. If you’re dehydrated your body can’t function as it should and every day functions such as temperature regulation, cushioned joints, as well as daily elimination and detoxing can be impacted. Some common symptoms of dehydration is feeling tired, dizzy, headaches, dry skin, irritability, and brain fog. Drink up that H2O, add some lemon for added vitamins and minerals!
✨Limit processed food and your overall sugar consumption. Eating lots of processed food and sugar can create chronic inflammation and multiplies the bad bugs in your gut plus a lot of processed foods contain artificial sweeteners that actually kill the good guys in your gut. Approximately 70% of your immune system is housed in your gut! I understand how difficult it can be to eat a whole foods diet all the time so being mindful of what you’re eating (sugar is hidden in everything these days!) and reading labels can really make a difference.
✨Supplements. Improving and maintaining your gut health is essential for the overall health of your body. When your gut is out of balance, your immune system can’t do what it needs to do. Probiotics are for everyone, daily! Additional zinc, vitamin D and elderberry tea are always my go-to when the boys or I feel meh.
✨Get moving! Even just a short walk can improve your overall health, but getting a good sweat on has a significant impact on detoxing your body! Our skin is our biggest organ and sweating helps filter out toxins. Regular exercise can also improve your sleep, improve digestion, lowers blood pressure, strengthens bones, decrease your risk for heart disease….
✨Have a sleep schedule. Sleep deprivation is very common these days. Reducing caffeine as well as screen time especially before bed can have a huge impact on the quality of your sleep. So many people take over the counter sleep meds these days, but if you would just put your phone down at least an hour or two before you are going to sleep, you’d see some improvement.
✨Reducing stress is so important in your overall health and wellbeing. I can’t stress it enough….sorry, I couldn’t help myself! 😂Some of my favorite ways to help me stress less include praying (No 1!) deep belly breathing with my feet up the wall, exercise and essential oils. Essential oils are used daily in my home. They reduce stress, boost immunity, improve focus and mood, plus help us sleep and I use them to clean! I often have lavender in the diffuser and always have my favorite wellness blend on hand. I make my wellness blend using either Young Living Thieves or Rocky Mountain Oil Immune Support https://amzn.to/3qltifA. I make hand sanitizer, household cleaner and hand soap with it as well.
I am giving away 25 Immune Support roll-ons! I want to encourage others to take advantage of the benefits of essential oils and start using natural remedies to spread the ripple of health! Simply message me and I will get one to you!
I hope this gives you some helpful guidance to try some natural remedies that can boost your overall health and wellbeing! Please reach out if you have any questions! 💕
