Hormone Supporting Hot Cacao

Hormone balancing deliciousness!

Wow, has Fall come sweeping in over the past week or what?! NC was feeling brisk this week with the overcast sky and slight breeze. As I was making the boys some hot chocollagen (I’ll share the recipe in another post!), I was thinking that my favorite hormone balancing drink all warmed up would hit the spot!

I came upon a similar version of my favorite hormone balancing drink a few years back and with a few additions, have made it my own! The recipe includes ingredients that are easy to find at any grocery store and it takes only minutes to put together…simple and quick are 2 prerequisites in my everyday life.

Here is what I put in my hormone balancing hot cacao and why I love it!

Coconut oil nourishes your gut, helps balance your adrenal glands, boosts your immune system and protects your liver.

Maca contains nutrients that support normal hormone function, improves mood, can help menopausal symptoms, boost energy as well as boost memory and brain function.

Matcha is a superfood! It’s packed full of antioxidants, enhances mood, calms the mind and helps with concentration.

Cacao can inhibit the release of the stress hormone cortisol, is an anti-inflammatory, can reduce blood pressure and the risk of diabetes, plus it can boost your brain function and mood.

Maple syrup…need I say more?! I’m talking the real deal here. Pure maple syrup is high in antioxidants, zinc, magnesium, calcium and potassium.

Dandelion root tea is great for your liver. The liver doesn’t make hormones but it regulates the balance of some hormones and has many key functions associated with hormones in the body. The liver filters everything that you breath, swallow and absorb through your skin so it’s important that it’s functioning at it’s best!

Pink Himalayan sea salt contains 84 valuable minerals and trace elements. Excess sodium (in table salt and processed food) increases your risk of hypertension, osteoporosis, and kidney disease, whereas the diversity of elements in Himalayan pink salt is shown to create an electrolyte balance within your body, strengthen bones, lower blood pressure, and improve circulation.

✨1 cup almond milk

✨1 cup dandelion root tea

✨1 Tbsp cacao

✨1 tsp matcha

✨1 tsp maca root

✨1/2 – 1 Tbsp real maple syrup

✨1/2 tsp coconut oil

✨Twist of pink Himalayan salt

Heat until mixed and warm or if you’re wanting a refreshing drink, blend (I use a frother) until mixed, add ice if desired.

Enjoy! Let me know if you try!!
