Salmon Seasoning Blend

When I switched up the way I eat last December, having salmon every week became non-negotiable. I needed something that packs a protein punch and is super simple and quick to cook. Plus, I absolutely love it and the health benefits it has!

Baked salmon is a nutrient-dense food that is rich in protein and omega-3 fatty acids, which are essential for brain and hormone health. As I’m reaching 50, this is all important to ease into menopause as well as for longevity. Heart health and reducing inflammation became my number one priority after I started having heart palpitations last August. What I eat plays a major role in how I feel day in and day out and no longer suffering during peri-menopause has been a major blessing.

I have always loved lemon pepper seasoning, especially on fish, so I decided to add it to my salmon seasoning blend, but if you don’t like it or don’t have any on hand, this blend is still delicious without it.

  • 1/2 Tbsp lemon pepper seasoning
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • ¼ tsp fine ground celtic/pink salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp poultry seasoning
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp ground mustard
  • 1/8 tsp white pepper

Mix seasoning in a small jar. I eyeball it and sprinkle a good coating on each 5 oz piece of salmon after spraying the salmon with some avocado oil spray. I cook the salmon at 400 for 16 minutes. I have found this to be enough for at least eight 5oz pieces of salmon.
